Environment
Jefferson County lies in the foot hills of the Great Smoky Mountains.  Two major lakes, Cherokee Lake and Douglas Lake are located within its borders. The opportunities for outdoor recreation are among the best in the country including, fishing, boating, hiking, excellent golf courses and much more. The Smoky Mountain tourist towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are within minutes of our facilities. There are excellent housing opportunities along the many miles of lake front property and mountain overlooks in the county.

Transportation
Jefferson City is located at the juncture of Interstate Highways I-40 and I-81. Twenty five miles to the west is Knoxville, Tennessee and Interstate I-75.

Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport is East Tennessee's major airport. Recent airport expansion  has included  a new state-of-the-art terminal. Direct flights are available to New York, Atlanta, Dallas and many other cities. Also direct flights are available to many of the nation's major airline hubs.

Education
Located right in Jefferson City,  US News and World Report has named Carson-Newman College one of the South's top ten regional liberal arts schools in a ranking based on academic reputation, student selection, faculty and financial resources, graduation rate, and alumni satisfaction. In its first annual "America's Best Values" survey, the national publication also named C-N one of the south's best educational values in providing "quality education at relatively reasonable cost" and one of the most efficient schools, a listing which reflects institutions' spending on educational programs per student. Carson-Newman is the only regional liberal arts school in Tennessee to make all three listings.

Located in Knoxville, the University of Tennessee is within a 30 minute drive of Jefferson City and offers a very complete curriculum. 

Walters State Community College in adjoining Morristown, Tennessee is within a few minutes of our facility.
